Oh its so good…until its bad.

Monday was an awesome day!  I love Monday, because its like my Sunday…except its a weekday…and The Hubs is at work…and its not actually Sunday.  Anyway, this Monday was particularly nice and I wanted to wear something comfy and breezy but still somewhat chic (hence the belt and heels).  Yeah, Monday started off great.  Lazy morning of blogging, lunch with my homegirl Billie, grocery shopping…

And dinner was spectacular!  I sliced up some zucchini, red onion, and bell peppers and marinated them in Newman’s Own Organic Italian Dressing.  Then I rubbed some garlic sea salt and lemon pepper on two beautiful mahi mahi filets.  Check out this gorgeousness The Hubs grilled for us:

Are you salivating with jealously at that gloriously healthy and tasty meal?  Yeah.  I would be too.  But here’s the thing: there was hardly any fat, absolutely no creamy sauce, and just plain all natural goodness on that plate…

SO WHY THE HELL DID MY TUMMY FLIP IN EFFING CIRCLES AFTERWARDS?!?!?!   I seriously have a problem.  A tummy problem.  It seems that for the last 3 or 4 years it has been getting progressively worse and I can’t figure out what the deal is.  I shouldn’t have awful bloating and stomach cramps every other day/night, should I?  Especially not after a healthy meal like this one.  So maybe this is waaaay too much information, but I’m getting really fed up and I was wondering if any of you have any thoughts on the matter.

Obviously my day and early evening were fantastic, but things kinda slumped off around 7:30…when my ninja teacher told me to go home because I was obviously in pain.  Yeah.  I’m a total wuss.

Thoughts?  Comments?  Suggestions?

any dairy in what you ate? i turned lactose intolerant pretty much overnight. try cutting out ALL dairy — like read EVERY label — for a week and see… it takes a while for your system to clear itself if you are, so you won’t feel better right away… but it’s worth it! i’ve since been cured.

i also had a fat mal-absorption problem, but if you aren’t losing weight like you’re starving yourself, it’s probably not that.

good luck — and cute shoes!

ever since i was young i’ve had issues with my tummy. this meal, however, would not usually be a trigger for such yuck (which by the way i was salivating over thankyouverymuch) so a couple things to try/pay attention too would be milk (as said above, and i noticed on your twitter you went no dairy for a while), also acids in the form of citrus and tomatoes (perhaps there was something in the dressing, have you had it before with any issues?) i’ve had so many doctors tell me to keep a food diary just to keep track of when i was having issues, and that may work for you, but more likely than not i imagine your already keeping a mental list of stuff. in my case, i definitely do see a connection to something high fatty in the form of cheese, cream, fried, etc and bad tummy mojo. do the issues you have happen immediately or wait a while? what did you have earlier in the day? i’m just throwing stuff out there to think about. i hope it gets better for you!

Oh dear, that does look extremely healthy and delicious, sorry it made you feel bad!

Around 6 months ago I started having horrible stomach pains, especially in the morning after eating eggs. It seems I had acid-reflux, and the problem was definitely better if I take pepcid AC before a big meal, or just avoid eggs.

I hope you get to the bottom of it.

Maybe one of those elimination diets will help you where you can cut everything out and then start adding it back again…

I have crazy stomach issues too. It is mostly with dairy, but even bread (especially really amazing healthy grain bread) gives me trouble. I have found the product Digestive Advantage to be really helpful. Maybe it will work for you too. :) On a side not, I enjoy any outfit post that involves drinking.
