Finally! [Updated]
UPDATE:
Dear La-Z-Boy,
I have added this little update to my blog post because a good friend brought it to my attention that perhaps something should be done on your end due to the fact that we had to wait 6 months for the CORRECT furniture order. Yes, we love it, but for the price we paid for custom-made furniture, your customers shouldn’t have to deal with incorrect orders, or wait a whopping 6 months when the original order was supposed to arrive in only 30 days. Your hard-working customers also should not learn about extra fees and taxes the day before a delivery is supposed to take place. I appreciate the fact that you allowed us to keep the incorrect furniture while we waited, but did not enjoy our salesperson telling me that I ordered it wrong, especially when I showed that person a picture showing exactly how I would like the chaise arranged. What can you do make this a better situation for all parties involved?
Sincerely,
The Davis’
Six months after originally ordering our living room furniture, it is finally here. They said it would take 30 days. At the 2-month mark, we got our stuff but it was wrong. It took another 4 months to get the right stuff (insert New Kids song here).
But I’m not complaining, because I’m a happy camper now. We love our new living room, and so does Sammie.

I consider my decorating style to be “comfy contemporary.” I love clean, smooth lines and solid colors, but with comfy pillows, lots of blankets, and sentimental reminders all around. The living room is where we spend our time together and I wanted it to be perfect for us. I think we succeeded.

Where’s the “really old hand-me-down furniture” now? Innnnnn my family room!

P.S. Thought I might add, that because of your experiences with this purchases, I will NEVER buy anything from La-Z-boy. And at 26, I still have a lot of furniture buying in my future…

looks good girl… but not sure crappy service is worth it.

I would be totally livid and tell them to take my stuff back and give me a refund, if I had a customer service person basically tell me I ordered a custom piece wrong. And to have to wait 6 months? SIX months? Forget that!
ps- the living room looks fantastic, despite the furniture/customer service issue.

The furniture looks lovely, but I can’t imagine waiting six months for it. I know where I won’t go when we start shopping for a new couch…

Looks beautiful!! As far as taking 6 months: that is ridiculous!!! Thank you for confirming I won’t ever work with Lazboy. Geeze. I would have cancelled my order. But yes, it does look awesome!

first of all the room looks great, because of your vision not the fact that it is la z boy…6 months is ridiculous. you live RIGHT NEXT DOOR to them. unacceptable. and to tell you that it was your fault? how stupi can they be? you can get furniture anywhere, customer service is what matters and la z boy is going to loose a lot of business if they don’t get it together.
we for sure are going to somewhere else when we get new furniture.

You did a great job with the design of the room, it looks really good. To bad you had all the trouble out of them though. At least we know from what you went through that’s where NOT to go look for furniture. Your dog looks adorable by the way!

Okay, this is just ridiculous. I’m so disappointed in La-Z-Boy. I love their furniture–it’s great for my back–and I was planning on furnishing my new apartment with it because I basically need all new living room furniture, but now I don’t think I will. I’d be too nervous about getting done wrong like you were.

However, the room looks great. I especially like the painting! You should do more and sell them–I’d totally buy one.
